Michael has a bachelor’s degree in arts with a major in sociology from Concordia University and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the Université de Montréal. Called to the bar in 1984, he has also worked as a union representative with the Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE).
Partner at the firm, he specializes in labour and administrative law, including grievance arbitration, negotiation and judicial review.
Michael is often called upon to represent clients at Quebec’s Administrative Labour Tribunal and the Canada Industrial Relations Board. He works with clients from a wide variety of fields.
He has also taught labour law at the Université de Montréal and at UQAM and frequently speaks at conferences and union training sessions.
He was president of the Canadian Association of Labour Lawyers (CALL) from 2007 to 2008 and remains an active member.
Michael is a member of The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.
He has also been recognized by The Best Lawyers in Canada and L’Expert as one of the best lawyers in labour and employment law in Canada.
